- 1. You cannot load BE 2012 onto Server 2012. This is not supported. To load BE onto Server 2012, you need to upgrade to BE 2014. This upgrade is free if you are on a current maintenance contract. Your BE 2012 licence keys will not work with BE 2014 2. BE 2012 is able to backup Server 2012, but not Server 2012 R2. See this document http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH175581 3. You can install BE onto a new server with your existing licence keys, but make sure you uninstall BE from the old server.
