Access to Synology NAS

Hi,

I added a Synology NAS to the server list. The access to the NAS via BE is OK, but the access to the shared folder is not OK.

Any ideas for good experts?

Best Regards

  • It doesn't need an iSCSI port...it uses the standard NIC. This is simply a protocol that is/isn't supported, so check your specifications of that NAS.

  • What version of BE you are using? Have you checked the below article.

    https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH189560.html

Make sure you have placed a check mark against "Enable Selection of user shares"

  • In addition to the above, do ensure the BE account has full admin rights on the NAS as well.

  • ...if the Synology can do iSCSI then use this as the transport to present a LUN to the media server. it's going to get around a lot of authentication issues.

    Thanks!

  • Using BE 2014.

The config with Enable Selection of user shares is active.

The BE account has full admin rights. The BE Access to Synology NAS is successfull but the BE test to the shared folder is not successfull.

The NAS has no port for iSCSI.

  • BE test to the shared folder is not successfull.

Are you referring to the Credentials Test ? If yes, ignore and run an actual backup job.

  • the result of the backup job is: error.

"the account has no valid login information"
