Application popup: beremote.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0

Backup Exec job on remote W2K server hangs without giving an error.
Event viewer on the target server shows the following error from the backup exec remote agent at the time of the hang:
"Application popup: beremote.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x78029ca1" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".

I have tried dropping the database thru beutlity but it hasn't worked. This is not due to an upgrade as the backups worked fine after the upgrade. Now they are all suddenly hanging for no apparfent reason/ no config change.

    Hello,


    This issue may occur due to corrupt installation of the "Remote Agent for Windows Servers".

    To resolve the issue, completely uninstall and reinstall
    this module. Please do the following:
    1. Uninstall: Use Add/Remove Programs
    2. Install: Please refer to the following technote:
