Backup EXEC - Backup to mac sharing storage

Hi All,

We got a Mac Storage attached on a MAC Pro, and Windows server will be deploy to allow users to store data locally and perform daily backup to MAC pro storage via sharing map drive.

Would like know what backup exec components / agents / licenses are required for the above configuration.

    As of Backup Exec 15 FP5 (see End of Life Information section in BE 15 SCL document) we no longer support Mac with an agent.

     

    If you can access the data over CIFS shares from the BE server then you may be able to do a share level backup (which will need an Agent for Windows license on the BE server if not using either of the Capacity Editions) .

    Note: Incremental and differential backups are not supported when backing up over shares, unless a remote agent is running on the system concerned.
