Backup Exec 9.1 question on failing backups

I have a BackupExec 9.1 setup that is used to run a backup on a Oracle 8 and its file system.  This backup was running very smoothly on the previous system (windows 2000 SP4)

Recenetly I have had to migrate the Oracle to a new hardware (WIndows 2000 SP4).  The Oracle agent for the backup works great.  Thouhg I am having an issue with the regular file backup.

I have been able to ping back and forth between the two systems. I have verified the Acocunt that the backup should be backup with.
It seems that this post is as close as I have got but still not seeing a solution

Mind you most of notes on this simular issue refer to a (now dead) link http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/256120.htm

I have the -debug on the client system

The last lines are
**
DS_CloseSelectionService
Successfully impersonated DerekL
WhoAmI( ) reports: BDC_NT\derekl
Successfully impersonated domain\BENTUSR
 WhoAmI( ) reports: domain\BENTUSR
**
that is the end of the log file.  All the rest before it looks fine.
Ihave also tryied to use a local account to do a  backup with and no luck.

Any other suggestions?

  • Is the remote agent installled and running on the Oracle server?

Is it publishing/advertizing to the media server?
  • Seems to be publishing ok and I can browse to it from the Media server to select subfolders ok.

Backup Server is an old NT4 box, and the TARGETSVR is a Windows 2000 box

I have also tried local account vs the domain account
