Go ahead and try going through these steps on the server(s) where the remote agent is stuck in a starting state.
There are two ways through which this can be resolved.Kill the Beremote.exe from Task manager.1 ) Make Microsoft Outlook as default mail client.Restart the Remote agent service. If the service still goes into starting state, reboot the server.2) Open the Windows Registry Editor by entering Regedt32.exe via Start | RunBrowse to \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\MailRename PreFirstRun to PreFirstRunoldRestart the Remote agent service. If the service still goes into starting state, reboot the server.
