Backup Jobs Fail With "0xe00084cd - The data being read from the media is inconsistent."
My backup jobs are failing with the following error:
Job ended: Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 4:00:17 AM
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe00084cd - The data being read from the media is inconsistent.
Final error category: Backup Media Errors
For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-33997
I've reviewed the support link offered, which provides a wealth of information on why this problem occurs with tape. Unfortunately, we do not use tape backups. Rather, we are using Backup To Disk.
In the past, I have always had to cycle B2D folders, deleting the offending folder and starting all over again. This is not an acceptable long-term solution to the problem and I'm curious if anyone has had any real success in resolving this error as it relates to Backup-To-Disk jobs (not tape). I've defragged, run scandisk, etc..no problems found. I've swapped B2D folders so much to get around this error already.
EDIT:
We are running Backup Exec 11D Build 7170 on Windows 2003 Server Enterprise with Service Pack 2.
Installed Bacup Exec 11D Build 7170 Service Pack 1
Server is a twin AMD Atlon MP2200+ with 1GB RAM. We backup data to two local mirrored RAID arrays and then replicate the jobs to removable drives.
