Completed with exceptions backup exec

 hello 
on my backup exec i get that he finish but always i have"Completed with exceptions"
1.WARNING: "\\server\drive:\folder\pst\user.pst" is a corrupt file how i fix it?

2.WARNING: "\\server\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes\usernameTop of Information Store inbox keyKEY: BF45BE6502CC484C9476D510339184B9)" is a corrupt file.
what this mean and how i fix iy?

    Hi Lucien,

    To answer...

    1. AOFO (Advanced Open File Option) needs to be used. This will ensure that any open files on your server are backed up.By default, PSTs will not be backed up without AOFO, causing your backups to either fail, or show as incomplete.

    2. Symantec recommend never using AOFO when backing up DBs. My suggestion is to make sure you're: A] using the Exchange agent to back up Exchange, and not do a flat file backup. Active exclusions will make sure that even if you select the folder in which your *.edb is located, it won't be backed up; B] Split your backups. If you don't know how, read up on it here...

    Hello,

    1.WARNING: "\\server\drive:\folder\pst\user.pst" is a corrupt file how i fix it?
    The .PST file might be open at the time of backup so it is showing as corrup. You can ignore this Warning OR
    Create a resigtry entry: 
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SYMANTEC\Backup Exec for Windows\Backup Exec\Engine\Backup...Create a REG_DWORD
    Fail Jobs on Corrupt Files and set the value to 0

    Hi all, thanks for all your ideas, I'll have a look into all these and give the feedback tomorrow

    For the first error - the user has probably left Outlook open. 
    However PST files are not supported being accessed over the network.

    If it has been working up to date, then you have been lucky. 

    The second error is the type of error that you will get if you are doing Mailbox backups (aka brick level) backups, rather than or in addition to Information Store backups. Almost every site that does brick level backups will get that warning , some all the time. It basically means that Backup Exec cannot read an item. It does not mean there is anything else with the database or mailbox. The only way to stop the errors is to stop wasting time and tape space and no longer do mailbox backups. Information Store backups will have everything that you need to recover data, and do not take hours to run.
