How do you mean can't remove snapshot. Do you receive any errors ?
Does the BE service account has enough rights in vCenter ? - kunchorn_sLevel 2
User for BE service is Administrator on vCenter.
vCenter and BE server is the same server.
I receive is errors
vCenter Events & Tasks tab:
Unable to access file <unspecified filename> since it is locked

You are not the only one:

What is your exact ESX(i) and vCenter version ?
Make sure to install all available updates on ESX & vCenter.

The latest updates for 2010 R3 have been desigened to solve at least one condition that meant Backup Exec might be causing this and as such it is likely that something is timing out or denying access in the environment - however as this is a tricky thing to investigate I stongly suggest that you log a formal support case for us to investigate further.

I have same issue with one specific virtual machine. I receive Unable to access file <unspecified filename> since it is locked error message, and I have to remove Consolidate Helper snapshot manually. No similar problems with other VMs.

Hi All,
I have the same problem. Did you get any solution for this?

Cyrusm,
Can you manually remove the existing snapshots ?
(With the service account you use for the backup) - cyrusmLevel 4
Yes, I can remove with the account
