Data Compression
We cannot get veritas to compress data. the backup has started calling for additional tapes even though the option has been selected in setup. this is happening in two different locations in town.

- Hardware or software compression?
If hardware, from Devices\Properties, is "Enable Compression" checked?
You didn't specify your tape device. Is there a Switch/Jumper on the device itself to disable compression?Message was edited by:
Ken Putnam - Thanks for the reply, The compression has been selected in the veritas software. I was not aware of any hardware jumpers on the tape drive itself, I will check to see if there is such a switch. Thank you
