Dell PowerVault TL2000 Diagnostic Tool

Hello, 

I am quiet stack here, any body who can help me with a diagnostic tool for Dell PowerVault TL2000

My BE 12.5 reports read/write error, so I wanted to use adiagnostic tool to enhance my troubleshooting

    Backup Exec installs a software based hardware analyzer in the Backup Exec folder called tracer.exe.  You can start this up prior to the backup and capture the SCSI commands going back and forth.  If the failure occurs immediately it should easy to spot on a check condition on a READ6 or WRITE6 command.

    Any idea about tape drive make?

    I can see IBM make drive with TL2000 library in compatibility list.

    To diagnose IBM make tape drives, you can use IBM ITDT tool to daignose.

    ...if you have an account on the Dell site, you should be able to log on there. Do a search for the Dell Tape & Library Tools, and see if you can get hold of the latest version.

    Once done, stop the BE services, and run the diagnostics against the drive.
