e-mail notifications go to que since going to version 11d

I am no longer receiving smtp e-mail notifications. They stopped after migrating to version 11d. I know smtp is working since I use with other applications. I have stopped and started both the backup exec services and smtp. I have made sure the alert categories are configured as well as the backup jobs. When I perform a "test" notification it just goes to queue. Any help would be appreciated.
