Do you receive any notifications at all other than the "test message"?
One thing might be to check the "Alert" tab... then click a category from the main window such as "Job Failed" then look at the lower portion of the window and check the properties of that category and make sure "Enabled:" and "Send notifications:" both state "Yes"
Another thing you might try that hasn't be mentioned prior in this thread, might be to delete the recipients and recreate them. It is possible that the settings for the job set could be corrupted in the database.
I had the email notification problems (of not receiving any) for a short while over 6 months ago and the only things I changed (to remedy the situation) in my settings were the things I mentioned within this thread such as:
* Rebuilt the media set.
* Rebuilt the individual job sets.
* Did not set the notifications at the job level but instead enabled the notifications and selected the recipients at the category level.
Through some part in this process (or shear luck) I had managed to restore email notifications and have successfully receive most if not all notifications both through email and to my cell phone.
