Error in backup-to-disk folder

Hello,


- Do you receive this Error only on a backup to disk folder?

- Is it a local backup or a remote backup?

- What data are you backing up?

- Try recreating the backup to disk folder and the jobs and try the backup again...

1. Yes, it occurs only on backup to disk folder.

2/3. It is a remote and local backup to a remote folder.

4. I recreated the backup to disk folder and the shared folder on server, and restart the all Backup Exec services.

Hi,

This error can occur if the Backup Exec Device and Media Service is running as the local system account.

When the backup job is run on a backup-to-disk (B2D) folder with Backup Exec Device and Media Service running under the local system account, the job will fail with this error.

Is the P: drive local to the media server or is it a network drive?

If it is a network drive, remember that when Backup Exec runs as a service with no logged on user, there is no environment and no mapped drives available

It's been a while since I set up B2D folders, but you should be able to specify them via "\\ServerName\ShareName" rather than by "P:\"

The backup is run with logged on users. And the mapped drive (P) is available.

I used a mapped drive because I got the same problem before when I use share name.

I found out that the problem is with my IBM NAS, though the problem still unknown to us. Backup just works fine if we backup to another server.

But I noticed that writing to this NAS is very slow because it is running under software RAID-5. Is there any chance that the slow response of the server makes the backup timeout?
