Hello, we recently deployed netback 7.7.3 on windows 2012. we have a Data domain storage. Everything is configured by following the veritas and emc guides. eveything is superb except when it comes t...
BTW - we are asking all these different questions so that we can (hopefully) offer some solid advice at some point later in this thread (which may well probably be quite a long thread by the time we get there).
.
What does this show:
C:\> fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo F:
.
Some more detail about the VM (i.e. the backup client) hosting the problem DFSR:
Number of vCPUs?
Amount of vRAM?
Are all of the VMDKs thin provisioned? If you have a mix of thick and thin provisioning, please specify which of these: C: E: F: G: is thick or thin?
How many different DFSR namespace roots do you have on each of: C: E: F: G: ?
Log Name: Application

Description:
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine GetVolumeNameForVolumeMountPoint is now failing on the volume, winerror 0x00000001. . hr = 0x80070001, Incorrect function.
...and another, but you don't show the event ID or when this occured:
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine OpenService (shSCManager, 'VSS', SERVICE_QUERY_STATUS). hr = 0x80070005, Access is denied.
.
Can we check the client's buffer size:
# bpgetconfig -h serv-dfs02 buffer_size
.
This physical server seems to have a fair amount of storage.
.
Are any of E: F: G: from SAN/NAS storage arrays, or are all of the volume drive letters actually local formatted from physical disk within the server chassis?
.
If the server has local disk only, and no SAN/NAS storage, then please can you explain how the 9 TB of disk space is carved? How many spindles? Any RAID parity groups? What model of RAID card HBA? (I ask because we need to check a few things).
