Incremental tape accidentally overwritten: restoring incremental backups?
Hallo, due to misconfiguration I accidently overwrote a backup tape I use for incremental backups and created a new 6 gb backup. So the data is not complete physically overwritten.
I use hardware compression and encryption
Is it possible to read the backups from tape and recover it to the catalog?
If you have appended to the tape, then you can the incremental backup, but not if the tape is overwritten, even by a little bit.
