Insert WORM media

Hi all

We are using BEX 2010 R2 with an HP DAT 160 hot pluggable drive (Windows 2003 R2).  Over the last few days we have been getting the following alert:

Insert new WORM media into the drive. New WORM media is media that has never been written to.

I have tried cleaning the drive and re-booting it but it hasn't cured it.  Do you think my drive is kaput?
