IO Fail on CSV Volume during Backup via Backup Exec and VSS Hardware Provider

 

Hi,

 

We have a Hyper V 2008 R2 cluster 

Backing up CSV Volumes (Drilling down via the cluster IP) using Backup Exec 2010 R3 , and VSS Hardware Provider.

I have an application running IO to these CSV Volumes during Backup

I am seeing an IO failure ever so often. 

ANything i might be doing wrong?

    Unless your backups are failing, or your application is suffering poor performance, leave things as-is. The alternative is to start your backup when the application isn't busy...

    Well - we are certifiyiing the Hardware provider with the Backup Exec application.

    Requirement is to be able to run IO's to the CSV Volumes during Backup. 

    I am of the opinion that IO to the CSV Volume shouldnt fail even if a Backup job is running - is this a correct assumption?
