Migrate dedup storage Backup Exec 2012 to Backup Exec 2014

Hi

One of my clients has a Backup exec 2012 on Server 2008 R2, dedup storage is a internal HDD, he wants to move on Backup Exec 2014.

If i create Server 2012 R2 with Backup Exec 2014 SP2, how use deduplicated data on the new server backup exec?

    Hi jba,

     

    I'd actually suggest upgrading the current media server to BE 2014 first. Just stop the BE services and grab copies of the Data & Catalogs folders.

    Once done, check out the guide below on how to move it:

    To move BE, follow the procedure in this document

    Do take note of the Note in the Solution.  It might be better to upgrade the existing server to Server 2012 R2 before moving BE.
