Problem applying Copied Media Server Configuration...

Hi all,

BEUtility hangs trying to apply the copied media server configuration... here are the details:

I Had Backup Exec 10d B5629 with SP1 and Hotfixed 26 and 27... and I needed to completly re-install the whole server. I did a copy of the configuration using the BEUtility and it did it successfully.

After that, being very naive, I proceed and re-installed everything from scratch and installed BE same version and installed all the same service packs and hotfixes the original one had and then I tried to apply the configuration using the BEUtilies but it just sits there and I can see beserver.exe eating all the cpu... I even left it last night for 10 hours and nothing...

I do not have the original installation anymore... is ther eany way to recover the configuration and jobs from that file? any Idea or sugestion?

Thanks a lot,

  • Look for the BEDB.BAK file in the \Data directory on the last tape that you have of the old server

restore that, then use BEUTIL to "recover from a file"

    See http://support.veritas.com/docs/268315
