Problem with IDR restore to different hardware

I am testing IDR recovery from one computer to a new computer with different hardware.

 

I have the necessary RAID and NIC drivers available on floppies to load during the IDR process. The problem is that a number of our servers do not have internal floppy drives. I must attach an external USB floppy drive to the server.

 

The USB floppy drive is recognized by the Windows setup portion of IDR but it is not seen by IDR when the time comes to load the drivers after the data has been restored from tape. Is there any way to make this work with a USB floppy drive?

 

Surely Symantec must be addressing this, as the floppy is becoming more and more of a legacy device.
