Ready;no idle devices are available

Hi All;
 
I am having issues with Backup exec;when the schedule job tries to run it comes up with the following message error message: ready;no idle devices are available.
 
 
can any one help in resolving this issue.

    Hello Agatha,
     
    This answer is just base on my experience using BEx 11D.
     
    First is, if you are using a Tape Library like LTO and DLT, this may help you in any way.
     
    • You might have to check if you're library is up and running.
    • You might have to initialize your library before scheduling especially if you've installed your library for the first time.
    • Be sure to incorporate your partition table with your library.
    • Go under option of your BE and look for storage wizard, don't remember but it's under BE options.
    • Finally, try to shutdown your backup server, then try restarting your library first before turning on your backup server.

    This error pertains mostly with your library or device attached when backing up your data if you are using one.
