restore data from expired tape

Question

I need to restore a file from a tape that was used 6 months ago.&nbsp; The retention period is only for one month.

Is there a way I can see what is on this tape so I can restore a file?

Move the physical&nbsp;write protect tab across on the tabe (best practice if you need to restore to avoid accidental overwrite)

Then put the tape back in the drive/library and inventory and catalog it

If the retention (or rather overwrite protection) was only for 1 month, highly possible the tape may have been re-used.

You can run an inventory and catalog to view the contents of the tape.
