Restore single mail to another mailbox

Hey there,

 

following scenario: I wanna restore some mails to another mailbox.

 

Restore from Exchange 2003 to 2003 = possible? Yes, i think so..?

Which syntax I should you use at the settings on redirect destination?

Server = "\\exchange2003-srv" ?

Server = "\\exchange2003-srv.domain.local" ?

 

Which syntax I should use at "restore at mailbox"?

Username? Username [loginname] ?

 

The documentation says nothing about this...please help me..:) !

 

Could I restore it from a backup of exchange 2003 backup [grt] to an active mailbox on exchange 2010?

    I´ve found the "right" way.

    I´ve tried several times to restore mail from a backup of Exchange 2003 to another mailbox on this exchange 2003 server - no sucess.

    Error: Ressource is not available.

    Then i´ve tried to restore the mails to an active mailbox on exchange 2010 - sucessfull.

    Problem is solved, but thanks for your answer.

    YES. Restore from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2003 mailbox is possible.

     

    2) Which syntax I should you use at the settings on redirect destination?

    Server = "\\exchange2003-srv" ?

    Server = "\\exchange2003-srv.domain.local" ?

    You can use the first syntax that is "\\exchange2003-srv"

     

    3) Which syntax I should use at "restore at mailbox"?

    Username? Username [loginname] ?

    Here you can put the name of the Mailbox as shown in the System Manager of Exchange 2003 or you can also put the ALIAS name of the user.

     

    4) Could I restore it from a backup of exchange 2003 backup [grt] to an active mailbox on exchange 2010?

    I don't think that this is supported even if it works. There is a high probability that this will NOT WORK.
