Sony SDX-560V won't read tapes

I have just upgraded our server to SBS 2003 and reinstalled BE v9.1 and applied SP4a. I have installed the latest drivers as per the KB273853 but the tape drive still refuses to backup. The Media Types tab on the Drive Properties doesn't list any media except ***.

The drive was working fine with the SBS 2003 Backup wizard before I installed BE so I know it is not the drive.

What have I done wrong?

    Hello,

    As a preliminary step please verify the compatibility of the device with BE v9.1.

    Also note that if the device is not detected by Windows then Backup exec will not be able to detect it.
