  • Hi there,

For the errors, check for the following:

    1. Log onto the server giving you the VSS errors, and then type the following from a command prompt: vssadmin list writers. Anything not Stable and Running is in error. You can resolve this normally by restarting the server, or reregistering the VSS *.dlls as per the TN below:

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH70486

    2. If the connection has been lost, it could be that the RAWS agent has stopped. Log onto the server in question and check this out. If it has stopped, start it up again and try running a backup once more. Check and make sure that no AV or firewall is blocking communications between the media server and the remote server.

    3. Check the TNs below as they might assist you in correcting this particular error:

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH5687

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH7645

    4. Same as #1.

As always, make sure that the media server has the latest SP installed for BE 12.5, as well as any subsequent patches. Then push-install these to any remote servers you might have.

    Thanks!

    Its failing here

  • Hi Craig

i have checked the vssadmin list all are stable with no errors. so i think no need of reregistering the VSS

  • ...check the Event Viewer to see if you're getting VSS errors there. THat error means you have an issue. The writers could be erroring out during the backup on DC2, or even the media server...
