Hi,
Is Backup Exec installed on a MSDE instance or a SQl instance?
Test the connection with the Backup Exec database with the help of:
How to perform a quick test connection to the Backup Exec SQL instance
http://support.veritas.com/docs/256661
Also run the MDAC component checker to check whether there are any mismatches.
Please download MDAC Component Checker from here:
"MDAC Utility: Component Checker"
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=8f0a8df6-4a21-4b43-bf53-14332ef092c9&DisplayLang=en
Start the "Component Checker".
Select the first Option "Perform analysis of your machine and automatcially determine the release version"
Note down the displayed version.
Select the second option - "Perform analysis against a selected version".
Select the version displayed in the first option.
Check whether there any mismatches.
Regards,
Padmaja
