Conflict with SEP

We've installed DLO 7.5 on about 60 computers for testing. Since the install, none of these clients are able to run virus definition updates in Symantec Endpoint Protection - has anyone seen this before / know how to fix it?

  • For anyone else having this problem, the issue is with the removal of a previous version of DLO during an upgrade. The DLO uninstall (prior to the new version installing) deletes the following folders:

    C:\Program Files <or x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\<version number>

    \Config
    \SmcLu
    \Temp

Creating those solves the problem. It looks like the uninstall removes any empty folders under \Symantec\ whether related to DLO or not.

  • Hi, thanks for the reply but the issue is at the client end - SEP client and DLO client rather than SEPM and DLO mangement (which are on different servers in this case!)

  • ...the advice would still stand. Make sure there are no port conflicts either way.

    Thanks!

  • Has anyone else experienced this? I have a case open with support but no progress for a while now.

  • FYI Old version of DLO was a v6, apparently this issue is fixed in later versions (but you still have to uninstall the old version so you might see it.)
