Restore failes

Hi there,

when doing a restore of a deleted folder, it will work only when removing the tag " Keep security information". When doing it with default settings i will get an error that i have not the propper access rights to the files. Any idea what to do??

  • Hi Thanks for the update ,I have not seen this error in backup exec DLO but while searching I can across this link which refer to same issue faced by you, http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH63538 Though it is Net-Backup link DLO working has been same for Backup-Exec and NBU The one you are doing is the solution looks like. Thanks

  • Hi

Could you give more information on what version of DLO what is type of folder deleted and you are trying to restore this from Backup exec or from DLO console

    Thanks

  • I'm using DLO 7 Standalone installation.

The folder is i:\löschen, i delete it and will restore it.

  • yes that's what we did, biut it only works when i untag " Preserve security attributes on stored files"

  • Hi

Thanks for the response so deleted folder or file was encrypted or compressed. What happen if you restore it to different location with preserver security option checked does it works

    Thanks

  • I checked with customer, encryption is not enabled , with compression i will check, to a different location it is the same

  • i will mark this as solution even it isn't a solution. only a worarround, but thats what we have found out as well.

  • short sidenote, in the technote the inviroment will say User is not Owner of the files. In my case it will happen when i do a restor of my own files.
