EV server change domain

Hi,

Regarding this tech note:

Can anyone say if they have an experience of migrating EV to new domain where SQL server is located on the EV server?

In my case, the current domain have ! EV server & 1 SQL server, but due to some limitations on target domain, they will not have separate servers, ans so EV & SQL will be hosted on same server.

What I thought is to to the change DB on the current domain and move it from SQL stand alone server to the EV server, and later change the domain membership.

BUR - I'm not sure what will be the SQL behavior after domain change or if this is even possible.

Can you please assist and give me your thoughts here?

    My bad, I misunderstood that you were moving everything to a new machine in the new domain but now I get it.  :)

     

    I don't think you will have any issues with SQL and the domain change.

    I think you should just follow step 2 and move the SQL databases to the new EV\SQL Server in the new domain.

    Then move along with the rest of the instructions.

    Hi Tony,

    That's the point, there is no new EV/SQL server on new domain.

    There is an EV server in old domain, and SQL is going to be hosted on EV server in old domain and then change domain membership.

    I'm worried about the impact the SQL will have from being on a server that goes through domain membership change.

    Hi Tony,

     

    The move is scheduled to April 27th.

    I'm hoping all will go well, but both EV server & SQL server will change their domain membership, so the steps are going to be a bit different than the tech note.

    Will update after the move.
