- Just to expand on the above...when Exchange 2010 was released, Windows Server 2008 R2 was the OS of choice on which to run it as it was a 64-bit OS only. As such, BE 2010 would be installed on a media server running this version of Windows. Same applies here...with the timelines for supporting Windows Server 2012 as a media server still a couple of months away, the suggestion would be to install Windows Server 2008 R2 for your media server and BE 2012 with SP2 on top of this. GRT backups and restores for Exchange 2013 will be released shortly too via SP3...check the update on the blog listed in the BE forum. Thanks.
