How to increase size of MSMQ drive

Question

Hii All,

I have installed EV 8.0 SP2 with Microsoft Cluster on Windows Server 2008 for 4000 users.
I have used MSMQ drive on SAN storage.
But unfortunatly I gave only 1 GB space for MSMQ drive which using on EV cluster, now it's creating problem for me.

Can someone advise me that how can we increase the size of the MSMQ drive in cluster envionment ?

or

If I'll&nbsp;increase the size of LUN which is using for MSMQ in EV cluster, then I also need to make other changes in EV configuration.

Please advise....

To set up a computer quota on a computer that has the Message Queuing resource installed in Workgroup mode and that is not integrated with Active Directory, follow these steps:

Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.

Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters\MachineCache\MachineQuota
    
    On the Edit menu, click Modify.
    Type amount of space, and then press ENTER. You must specify the amount of space in kilobytes.
    
    Note You must restart the Message Queuing resource for these changes to take effect.

Hello Deepak,

If you set msmq DRIVE-size 1 GB, I think you should be able to extend the size.

You can also move the msmq (as this is windows thing, not ev), by stopping all ev-services, stop msmq service, rightclikc msmq, properties, change location. Make sure the ev-queues are empty when doing this (to be sure) 
After move, start msmq, then ev-services.

Is it&nbsp;also posible that I will increase the size of same partition from SAN storage (Resize the MSMQ LUN)?

You can also try this,
Go to Computer Management and brows Services and Applications. Right click on Message Queuing and go to prperties.
In General tab, You can change the limit to any number that you need. Default it may be 1 GB.
Note: You have to restart the service once you have done this.

&nbsp;If your MSMQ is on a SAN you can use the SAN tools to expand the LUN size. Microsoft does not care about the disk thats presented to it from a SAN all it sees is storage. By adding additional disk space to the SAN disk and including that disk to the raid group the storage will expand. You may have to reboot windows so it will recognize the additional space but expanding space on a LUN is managed my the SAN be it EMC, Netapps or whomever &nbsp;Windows has nothing to do with it other than rebooting windows after the changes were made so windows can see the change
