Need to access enterprise Vault mail over Internet

Hi All,

We are having EV 9.0.2 and Exchange 2010. We are facing difficulty while accessing mails over internet. What are the best possible ways we can have so that we can access EV mails using outlook or OWA.

  • Hello MontoN,

For Enterprise Vault 9.0.2, you can take a look at this technote:

Symantec Enterprise Vault 9.0.2 - Setting up Exchange Server Archiving
http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC4700 (Page 157 - Configuring access to Enterprise Vault from Outlook RPC over HTTP clients)

You can publish the Enterprise Vault server directly over the internet or configure an Enterprise Vault proxy server (page 167). Check the PDF above and you will get all the steps to configure your environment. Also, you should consider upgrading your Enterprise Vault environment to version 10.

    I hope this helps.

  • Well if you want to access archived emails via Outlook .. You could:

    a/ Configure a VPN

Access after that is just as though you're on the LAN

b/ Setup RPC over HTTP (aka Outlook Anywhere).

There is documentation on this in the media

If you want to access via Outlook Web App, you need to configure that.. Again there is documentation on how do to his on the media (essentially 'stuff' to do your on your Client Access Servers).
