Capture File in Procomm Plus V4.8

Hello:

We are using Procomm Plus terminal (V4.8) in Windows XP to capture inventory data from a Unix system to transfer to a windows based system. I want to capture data that is 263 bytes long and write it to a single line. I turned off the line wrap setting but am only getting 80 bytes of data and the rest is lost (truncated). If I turn on the line wrap setting, each data record wraps around 4 lines. Is there a way to capture all 263 bytes on a single line?

I am using Wyse 50 as my terminal type. I am fairly certain there was a way to do this in an earlier version of Procomm but I am stumped at this point...

Thanks,

Bob

  • Procomm Plus 4.8 is not designed, nor certified, to work under Windows XP. Because of this, Symantec cannot provide technical support for Procomm Plus 4.8 when installed under Windows XP. However, Procomm Plus does function under Windows XP, with the following limitations:

    Feature

    Limitation

    Additional Information

    General

    Shortcut keys are not visible.

Shortcut keys do not appear until the Alt key is pressed.

    Dialog Editor

The Dialog Editor opens behind the main Procomm window when launched.

Click the Dialog Editor or its taskbar button to bring it to the front.

    Connection Manager

Under Help > Info, the operating system is incorrectly identified as Windows 95.

    Print Capture

Deselecting Print Capture launches Send Fax & Fax Status

    FTP

View buttons only affect the currently selected side of the screen (local or remote).

    Directory and Aspect conversion

    Cannot convert *.dir files.

Attempting to convert *.dir files may cause system crashes.

    Aspect Editor

Unavailable buttons are hard to see.

    Data Terminal

Z-Modem transfer doesn't have crash recovery.

When using Z-Modem transfer, you cannot continue transferring a file that was interrupted. Instead, it displays the message "The file already exists."
