The NetBackup 3.2 appliance software version is the NetBackup 8.2 release packaged into an appliance form factor. This means that the deployment is improved for the appliance and the appliance platform enables some additional functionally that woudn't be available in a build your own scenario, such as instant access and improved system monitoring and management.
