  • You would have to do some investigation and work out whaat drives paths there are that aren't configured in NBU. However, as INT_RND pointed out it's sometimes just easier to delete and re-add, so I'd do that personally.
  • Look in the tpautoconf man page, it gives an exact example of how to use the replace drive option. You basically tell it to replace drive with with the (new) drive with
  • Hi mph,

i did it on master server but got below output

    bash-3.00$ sudo ./tpautoconf -replace_drive Silo2-Shared9 -path /dev/rmt20.1
Found a matching device in global DB, Silo2-Shared9 on host sctclbk

and i am not able to see NEW DEVICE in tpautoconf -report_disc on media server, then how i am able to find out new drive path

  • It's super quick and easy from the Windows Admin Console.

    1. Delete the drives with missing paths and bad serial numbers

    2. Run the device wizard.

The device wizard will find all devices that are not currently configured. Just follow the steps.

  • But the concern is , on media server output of  tpautoconf -report_disc  does not give me any "NEW DEVICE", it is only showing "Missing Device (Drive) ".

In this case how i come to know the new serial no and drive path.

  • You need to run a discovery for new devices from the OS level.

  • Hi, please run below command on ACSLS server. Login as user 'acsss' $ /export/home/ACSSS/ run this command and check the output. $ config drive
  • Can you see the drives at OS level ? Forget NBU, does the total number of drives visible to the OS add up to the correct number of drives you should have.
