Autoloader connectivity to Virtual machine

Is it possible to connect autoloader to virtual machine? autoloader will be connected to ESXi box physically. Can my vm in the ESXi see the autoloader and use it. RHEL is running on virtual machine

    As per VMware KB 1016407, VMware supports tape devices on VMs. http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1016407 However, NetBackup does not support MediaManager storage unit on VMware Virtual Media server. Please check page 6 on TECH127089. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH127089
