Backup exec restores support in Netbackup
We have just migrated to Netbackup from Backup Exec . However we still have a large number of tapes stored away in backup exec format which will need restoring from in Netbackup .

Keep a minimal BackupExec installation for possible restores. That will properly be a much more smooth path than importing tapes into Netbackup.

Also take note that importing Backup Exec Images supports upto Backup Exec 12. There is no support for Backup Exec 12.5 or later versions. (please see link below)

The best practice is what Nicolai had suggested. Retain a Backup Exec server to be use for future restoration requirement.
