Is there a way to backup the OS through NetBackup?
I am curious if it is possible to back up the OS using only netbackup software without using bmr or vsr. There are system state and shadow copy components in the backup selection, and I am wondering if it is possible to backup and restore the server OS through these. If you know any ideas or technote addresses, please let me know.
restoring file from linux source to windows target; is possible?
Hi people: We are using NBU 10.x on windows 2022 media/master server (both roles same server). Have a mix of windows and linux clients. We need to restore a file from /wrk/app/app-baks.tar to a windows server on e:\wrk\app. My co-worker running this restore tells me that NBU GUI is telling that restore path is invalid. Tried e:/wrk/app but don't work. And seems that isn't supported. Any idea to accomplish this task ? Maybe UNC or and NFS on the same server? Hope to being clear.
Restore full folder with permissions to another location
Hello Windows client , drive c:\ have two folders - test1 and test2 . Test2 folder have file aa.txt I want to restore folder test2 with all related folders and files and with same permissions to c:\restore. I expect to find c:restore\test2\aa.txt , but found c:\restore\aa.txt The only way to achive what I want is to restore both folders to c:\restore and than remove folder test1 Is there a easy way to do that ? Since it is now unable to be brought up, I changed tape ownership to media server 2 after moved that tape to media server 2's tape library. How can we backup and restore from the location C:\Windows\SYSVOL on our domain controllers? In the backup policy we have it set to do a full backup and if you browse the directory structure it shows all the contents of this folder. However, when you try to run a restore from the server it shows this folder as being empty. We have the Netbackup Client Service running on those servers as a local domain admin account. Those servers also have "Netbackup Legacy Client Service" (not sure what the difference is) which is also running with a local domain admin account. I have also tried enabling Granular Recovery and Cross mount points on the backup policy, but still having the same issue. Our Netbackup admin console is ver 8.1.2
