delete backupset rman

Hi, If I use the rman command "delete backupset", I'll remove my backups in netbackup catalog too, or are they still available? Thanks in advance

Yes, but you will have to use rman to 'tell' NBU to expire obsolete backups.

    See this extract from
DOCUMENTATION: Best Practice for maintaining a consistent backup catalog between Oracle RMAN and NetBackup.
    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH49868 :

A best approach to managing the catalog synchronization is to use the Oracle and Symantec recommended method.  This method is to set the backup retention as an RMAN attribute, rather than a NetBackup attribute, and then have RMAN delete obsolete backups from NetBackup.  The procedures to do this are documented in the Oracle Recovery Manager Guides for Oracle versions nine and later (    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/index.html ).
