The serial number can also be found on your licensing certificate.

I have the installation file and licence key for netbackup 7.6 for physical master server. So will it be same for the virtual master server as well ?

I am getting the below error while installing netbackup 7.6.0.1 to Windows 2008 srever.

I have rebooted the server but no luck.

That means you could have clicked twice on the installer , another installing process is on-going. Try exit from this one, and make sure the other installer is moving. 

If this is new setup, you can cancel it and try again.

Is your Windows 2008 server 32-bit or 64-bit?

NetBackup 'Server' can only be installed on a 64-bit system, as per SCL:

It is a 64-bit server

1) The v7.6.0.1 Release Notes:

...lists several KB that are required.  Are they installed?

2) Also, the installation guide states that servers should be patched up to date (from Microsoft) before installing NetBackup.  Has this been done?

3) Have you disabled AV checking for the install?

4) Did you run the 'environment checker' before attempting the install?  Did it 'pass'?

5) Are you running the installer as 'administrator'?
