editing bp.conf

NBU 7.5.0.5

Solaris 10, Oracle 11.2.0.3

 

referring to link http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/rman-script-failure-0 on RMAN error, i checked and edited bp.conf on the client.

is there any command or service i need to run after editing bp.conf? the reason is i'm still having the same issues (error 230 in NBU console).

 

appreciate any help.

    You will need to restart Netbackup services on the client:

    usr/openv/netbackup/bin/goodies > netbackup stop >netbackup start

     

    I would also rereadconfig on the Master server:

     

    usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd > bprdreq -rereadconfig

    oops! i issued the right command on the wrong server. doh!

    anyway, starting netbackup from master server. i guess i don't have to re-readconfig anymore huh?

    Nope! :)

    It never hurts to restart Netbackup services though. As long as there were no jobs running
