WebUI does not update bp.conf on the offline node of the clustered Primary server

Hello,

If I change the configuration of the clustered Primary server from Java GUI, the change is written to bp.conf on both cluster nodes.
However if I change the configuration from WebUI, the change is written to bp.conf on the online (active) node only.

NetBackup is 10.2.0.1
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Lubos

  • Hi LubosDvorak,

If the change is made via WebUI, you will need to manually update the bp.conf file on the offline (passive) node to match the active node. This step is necessary because the WebUI only updates the active node at this time.

If you need the change to be reflected on both cluster nodes, make the configuration change using the Java GUI. This ensures that the bp.conf file is updated on both nodes.

    Hope this helps

      Hi garyy ,

If WebUI updates the active node only I would like the selection window "update on local node / update on all nodes?" to be replaced by warning that only the active node configuration will be updated.

Are there any plans to change the WebUI to update bp.conf on all cluster nodes?

      Regards,
      Lubos

I don't have information if and when this will change. It will need to be an enhancement request. You will need to go through Enhancement Request channels with your Account Team if you have one.

What you suggest is fair and would be very helpful improvement. I suspect as more Customers go to webui, things will become better
