You should contact your local Veritas office or reseller - they can offer you a 30 days demo key.
Latest version of Netbackup is 10.X. You should not evaluate a historical version.

As Nicolai mension, you have to contact Veritas sales of your country and ask for a demo key and the instalation files.
Sales will give you a netbackup 10 license key. It will work with 8.1.2.
Ask them to download the software for you as you may not be eligible to download.

FYI: NBU 8.1.2 is already very old. It will go "Sustaining support" next year and end-of-support-live in 2025. I don't have any customers still on 8.1.2. As others have said, I would not waste efforts on such an old version. The only valid business reason for running such an old version would be to support a VERY old workload that is no longer supported by modern versions of NetBackup. The oldest version I would even consider running in my own environment would be 9.1.0.1 as Veritas has not announced EOSL....yet. For more info, see:
