Excluding files/folders in VM backup
Hi,
We are running backups of our VM server through snapshot methods and need to exclude folders/drives from the backup. Please suggest if there is any way we can exclude files/folders in VM backups.
Nope, not possible..
only excludes that you can do in Vmware backup policy type is
1) exclude data disk ---> takes only boot disk
2) exclude boot disk ---> takes only data disks
3) take all disks -->by default.
in addition to that.. it does not take if the VM has the physical RDM.
but specific file and folder exclusion is not possible in vmware policy type.
