    Has this worked fine before? 
    If so, when did it stop working?

    If it was working fine before and nothing was changed in NBU, then it remains a valid question - what has changed in the environment?

    Can you confirm that port 1556 is open in both directions between the master and Windows desktops?
    Is Windows firewall disabled on the desktops?
    Is iptables stopped and disabled on the master?

    Is there a chance you can upgrade to 7.7.3 or 8.0?

VMware. The issue is a result of incompatibilities between the default GNU C Library (glibc) and Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) on newer hardware. The issue should be fixed in a future release of glibc. NetBackup administration and general operational notes
Workaround: Run the export LD_BIND_NOW=1 command before you execute runInstaller
