HP-UX restore

i have performed by backup, i want to do restore operation .

my master server is windows, my media server is HPUX

i want to restore in HPUX host. i have selected the icon backup,archive and restore

but iam not able to retrieve any information , to restore

how do i perform the restore operation

    Change Client_Name in master server's registry to its own hostname. In BAR GUI as before : Server to be used for backups and restores' will always be the master server Select or type HP-UX machine in Source client field (This name must be exactly the same as the one in the backup policy - d2dhost28.usa.hp.com) Select or type HP-UX machine name in Destination client field Select the policy type from the drop-down. Should be 'Standard'.

    Open BAR on the Windows master server.

    Select “File” -> “Specify Netbackup Machines”.

    'Server to be used for backups and restores' will always be the master server

    Select or type HP-UX machine in Source client field 
    (This name must be exactly the same as the one in the backup policy - d2dhost28.usa.hp.com)

    Select or type HP-UX machine name in Destination client field 

    Select the policy type from the drop-down.
    Should be .Standard'.

    Click OK.

    What happens?

    yes i was able to select the backup file for restore. i have selected the data wanted to restore the data to different location. started the restore and end up with incompplete restore and got the below error

    Win32 error codes, here:

    ...shows that Win32 status/error code '3' is 'Path not found'.

    It looks as though you are trying to restore a Unix path to a Windows path.  Is that what you are trying to do?

    It looks like the restore is trying to write to the Windows master server instead of the HP-UX machine. There are 2 possible reasons for this : 1) You did not select the HP-UX machine as destination client. 2) You unintentionally changed the Windows master's NBU Client_Name to that of the HP-UX machine. This will effectively result in a redirected restore.

    The error says the opposite - that you are trying to restore Unix path to Windows. Please see my post below.

    i have selected windows as server,source  client name as HPUX and destination client name as HPUX

    i have verified the NBU_client name its the same

    The Client_Name in Master server host properties must always remain the master server hostname. If this entry is changed to the same name as the source client, NBU sees this as instruction to restore to the master server and ignores the destination hostname in BAR settings.

    under host properties ->clients

    i can see HPUX host name

    on clicking on the properties , do i need to change to windows host.

    is this ur are trying to say.

    No. In Master server Host Properties -> Master name. Or else check Registry on the master server. The Client_Name must be local name.
