  • ERR - Unexpected EOF reading image. The image information is not complete.

1/14/2014 18:10:32 - Critical bptm (pid=9716) Amount of data read (9946240) does not match the fragment kbytes (9949302) for backup id xxxx_1415454468, copy 1, fragment 4

It seems some data is gone bad/corrupted and can't be read while doing the import or duplication. Can you try restoring the data to disk and see if it restores the complete tape data on disk. If data is corrupt you might have issues restoring the data as well. Enable the bptm logs while doing it and post it here.

  • Unexpetected EOF reading image ...

The image you are importing spans across to one of more extra tapes.

You need to phase 1 import all the tapes in the image before running phase 2, else you get the error you are seeing - unexpected EOF, that is, it's reached the end of what it has to import, but it's not at the end of the image, there are more tapes.

  • It is possible that this backup image spans onto other media which you need to do phase I import before ohase II. Please post "bpimmedia -mediaid media_id -L" to check number of fragments written on this tape.

  • Hi ,

Backup has completed on 1 media only. Actually , we need to duplicate this data to another media , but duplication failing with 191 status(below error) , so we tried to import these media another location , but the import also completing partially.
