Itanium servers support

Hi All,

We have a windows server (Itanium Processor) installed with WINDOWS SERVER 2008 Itanium. We are planning take backup of SQL databases through Netbackup 7.0.

But we are unable to install NBU Client on the server as we don’t have installable for Windows Itanium servers.

Kindly help us in creating the same.

Regards,

Vinayy

  • It's definitely supported:

    Compatibility guide: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH76648

    If you need base 7.0 based client software, you need to use fileconnect and enter your details, or speak with a Customer Services representative.

    Download locations:
      * Symantec File Connect:    http://fileconnect.symantec.com
    Symantec FileConnect - List of Available Products:    http://www.symantec.com/downloads/fileconnect/index.jsp
         This index is arranged by
                         * Product family
                         * Within each product family, by language.
    A serial number is required to initiate the software download through FileConnect.   This serial number is specific to the FileConnect site and is not the product license key.  The serial number will either come with an upgrade or purchase letter.
    If this information is not available, a serial number it can be procured from:
               Symantec Licensing Portal:
                https://licensing.symantec.com/acctmgmt/index.jsp
               or request a FileConnect serial number through Symantec Customer Care:
                http://www.symantec.com/enterprise/support/assistance_care.jsp
    Because application downloads require access to licensing information to which Technical Support does not have, Technical Support is not able to provide assistance with application downloads.   If assistance is required with either of the two download locations, please review the licensing PDF documents as referenced in the Licensing section above.

  • can't see Itanium supported client package listed under media kit info (Getting started Guide NBU 7.5)

    I believe itanium support is discontinued with 7.5 release

    pg 35 (NBU SCL for OS : http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH76648)

    I guess NBU 7.0 or 7.1 may support it but not 7.5

  • re-conrfimed . NBU 7.1 does have windows client package for itanium . go for it..

  • yeah revaroo... in hurry it slipped of me ....
