Windows Server 2016 Support

Hello

Can anyone tell where to find documents on Windows Server 2016 Support  with Netbackup Software as a master media and client.

Thank you

  • Windows 2016 is not mentioned yet in https://sort.veritas.com/nbufutureplans, but Veritas has commited to max. 90 days delay as far I as remember.

But unless the kernel or file system is very different from earlier versions of Windows, a file backup & restore can probably been done with the current client for Windows.

Of course you will then be running an unsupported setup, but a unsupported tested backup/restore option might be better than no backup at all.

        Hello,

based on previous Windows Server versions support, I estimate that client support will be in a future 7.7.4/.5 version, and Master/Media Server support will come with 8.0 version which is expected in Q1/2017.

        Regards

        Michal

  • If you subscribe to the 7.7 SCL, you will receive notification when the doc is updated.

Have just been told that Windows 2016 has been qualified in 7.7.1 and now it shows up in the SCL for 7.7 with a couple of notes.
